19th Century French Shop Counter

This antique counter was sourced from a hat shop near Nice, France.
Unusual construction with the frame being made from oak and the rest is pine.
It is quite hard to tell in the picture but the front is actually painted with its original paint which has wonderful patina and subtle colour. The rest of the counter has been given a good clean inside and out and the top has been finished with a shellac lacquer - which enriches the natural colour and protects the wood from spills etc.
Great for splitting up a room, used as a kitchen island or in a restaurant as a waiter station.
Original brass castors.
