Sourced from the famous tyre factory in Clermont - Ferrand, France.
We love the colour of this 1940's industrial unit. The top is oak and has been given a light sand and finished with a matt shellac lacquer to produce a clean user friendly surface that can be wiped down.
The two oak pieces that extend off the side, would have held tyres for designing and working on treads. These pull out leaving a slot. If you would prefer we can cut these pieces off to give a more continuous line.
The rest of the unit is painted steel with a pine shelf. The steel is very naturally distressed with a few different colours splashed here and there and there is some rusting, especially inside the drawers ( you could line these with wallpaper ). All in all the sliding of drawers and general construction is fairly rustic / crude and it is a very heavy piece.
