Upcycled Kitchen Island

This table has been made up using a huge factory mould as the base. The heavy red base would have been used in the process of forming cast iron parts. The wooden mould would have left its impression in sand which was then filled with the molten metal.
A really good example of upcycling something beautifully crafted but with little functional use into an unusual and fun table / island. Perfect in the kitchen or as a bead / waiter station in a restaurant.
The top is made from reclaimed pine and has some patina which has been finished with a shellac lacquer and the base has some natural patina.
