Original House specialises in sourcing unique and unusual interior objects, from vintage industrial furniture and lighting, to antique painted French furniture as well as some mid century pieces.
Not only beautifully designed classics but pieces that have that patina and charm that only age and good use can create. A move away from traditional antiques towards a more relaxed yet exciting style, Vintage chairs through to the clean lines of salvaged industrial lighting and other vintage furniture.
Original House intends to help people move away from cheaply made mass consumerism offering properly made pieces with soul that have stood the test of time and will only improve with age. At our core is a belief that reusing something must be more efficient than even recycling, helping you to do your bit for the environment.
We love the idea of our pieces being used in clean modern surroundings - injecting character and a sense of history.
As of 2017 we have also set up an art gallery showcasing our selection of contemporary paintings which we aim to display with our interior pieces.

This image is from one of our excellent local hotels - certainly worth a visit if you are in the Cotswolds, No 38 The Park. We supplied the Czech Railway Mirrors on the wall and the Spanish Serving Table in the middle.
Another of the Lucky Onion Hotels in Cheltenham, which also has an excellent cocktail bar is No 131

We have a lovely client who challenged us to find her a unique and interesting table - something fun with a lot of character. New Zinc Tops,
Zinc tops scratch and ware very easily - this all adds to the character of the finish and is really why people chose Zinc tops. It can also move and needs to be treated with care. Do not place next to heat sources such as radiators or place hot objects on top, use matts. Original House will not be liable for natural ware occurring to Zinc tops. Please see this link for more detailed information.
Wood finish / care.
Use a warm, damp and slightly soapy cloth to wipe over. Do not use any spray cleaners as they can damage the protection of the lacquer finish or use wax as a build up can occur and spoil the appearance of the finish. Where furniture is installed on site within two weeks of being finished by us, special care should be taken not to damage the lacquer finish. Lacquer can take several days to be heat-proof and up to two weeks to fully cure. During this time we strongly advise placing hot objects on mats rather than the bare top.
Oiled finishes - these do not provide as much protection as lacquer finishes, nor are they as durable. Particular care should be taken to wipe up spills immediately. If they are not cleaned immediately, a permanent stain can result. If Osmo oil (or similar) has been used and after time the tops feel noticeably dry, apply additional coats.
Cast Iron Radiators;
Each radiator is carefully inspected for
finish quality prior to dispatch, then carefully wrapped. Should your radiator
suffer any damage during positioning then we can supply touch up pots of paint

Full polish and Highlight finished radiators
external surfaces should be kept dry at all times. A light coat of oil will
prevent any surface rust appearing and will need to be reapplied as required. These are not recommended for bathrooms.
Prior to dispatching your radiators we have
assembled and pressure tested each radiator to 12 bar pressure over a 24 hour
period. The normal pressure of a central heating system is 2 – 3 bar of
