This is such a lovely authentic bar / counter. French Circa 1870's.
This antique bar has had a little restoration and a few alterations over the years but generally this is a very original piece - the patina on it is fantastic and untouched.
This vintage counter would have served wine and liqueurs. Fluted bottles would have been kept behind the bar as per the pictures. The shelf has been moulded to fit around the neck of these bottles. The customer would have handed over his coin which would have been placed through the slot in the top, falling into the locked drawer below.
We love this as a very smart console table, bar or kitchen island.
