C18th Windsor Chair
Finally I have bought one of these West Country Windsor chairs – I have been keen to get my hands on one for at least a decade ! Otherwise know as a Comb back Windsor stick chair.
Made from Ash and Elm in wonderful sturdy condition with the most fantastic patina. Originally this would have been painted which you can still see on the underside.
It has had a few historic repairs, including a very old large iron strap under a split in the seat. All very solid with no movement.
A beautiful and rare piece of furniture. Circa 1780.
