1920’s Workshop Table
You know you’ve found a goodie when the dealer I bought this from was practically in tears as I loaded it into my van. He was terrified his Mrs was going to bust him selling it, as she was desperate to have it in her house !
A super cool workbench from a farm in Devon. Amazing colour and patina to both the painted frame and the surface. The surface is actually a painted hessian cloth on top of a single wide plank of elm. It is tempting to peel the cloth off…. however, the black cloth just has the most fantastic patina…..paint splashes … marks where the vices were attached …. etc etc .
This has been given a very vigorous scrub clean and we have rebuilt the drawer base and strengthened the legs of the table – all now very solid !
A statement piece !
