Based on an Italian decorative painted ottoman, our large harlequins / bench is handmade and painted in-house in the Cotswolds
Large Harlequin Footstool
Upholstered Bench handmade in-house by yours truly in our workshop in the Cotswolds. A one-off piece. The inspiration for these benches came from an antique Italian Ottoman, which we bought and sold, with a similar construction.
Made from solid timbers and painted using many layers of colours including a ‘terracotta’ colour and upholstered with a heavyweight Cloth Shop ‘coffee’ linen. These boxes are designed with a hinged lid so that you have lots of useful storage inside. The paint finish is then sealed with a diamond hard matt varnish.
We love the idea of this being used in front of or behind a sofa, at the end of a bed and of course as a hallway bench.
