Vintage French Festival Sign
This early 20th Century sign is from a French town just south of Dijon called Dole.
The sign would have celebrated the festival of fanfares and circus, held the first weekend of Pentecost.
The sign is made from painted pine and would have held a series of flags positioned in a fan through the top of the sign.
Obviously the paint is very distressed with masses of character.
81 cm h x 231 l x 9 d.
