'Breakers' Industrial Dinning Table

Sold

This unusual vintage table is a tale of two halves.

The base originated from a breakers yard, where its was specifically made to hold engines for dismantling.  Much of the colouring is due to the oil that would have come from these engines.

When wondering how to turn this into a table i came across a stack of pallets which came from the Bournville factory - and hence the top is made from these chunky pine boards.  These have been chiselled to fit the base and have been finished with matt shellac to protect the boards from spills etc.

Hopefully you agree that the combination and stark contrasts has produced a very unique and impressive table.
