We are thrilled to have finally sourced one of these vintage rocking horses to add to our new children's section on the website. We believe this is c 1900 - 1920.
We found this in the south of France and love the elegant proportions.
As can be seen from the pictures this horse has been beautifully hand carved out of various types of wood. Originally this would have been painted, but now shows much of its form with blocks and strips of wood and teak rockers. The cross planks have been painted off-white to make everything contrast.
Although everything is very sturdy, this is really intended as a decorative piece.
