French Bobbin Rack

This stunning wall mounted piece of industrial history was sourced from a textile mill in the North of France.
Originally there would have been long lines of these racks holding 1000s of bobbins to be used in making carpets.
Sadly these racks were pretty much broken up in the demolition of the factory, so have been rebuilt using some of the original materials and some reclaimed materials. The bobbins themselves date from 1900 - 1940. All natural dyes hence the beautiful and subtle colours.
In my mind it looks like a painters colour chart. A very interesting and beautiful piece.
