Late 19th Century this French table would have been used for displaying delicious pastries and breads.
Lovely proportions and contrasting materials with the marble insert and the naturally worn pine frame of this large table.
The limestone, which is in 2 pieces, adds considerably to the weight of this table which is all very good and sturdy. There has been a repair to one corner of the marble as pointed out in the pictures.
The stone is know as Jura Marble but is actually a limestone. It has shells in it.
