Oak and Elm Dining Table

Sold

This Mid 20th Century kitchen or dining table was sourced from a country house in Normandy.

It is very unusual for us to find good dining tables - they seem to be a piece of furniture that get passed on rather than sold.  We are very proud of this find as this is an excellent table.  Really chunky with an unusual construction being made of blocks of oak and the base made from Elm.  There are little random oak inserts where the table has been put together.  We believe the oak is made from reclaimed beams as the stretcher has nail holes along the underside.

A really perfect sized table.

A few small signs of worm in the base which we have re-treated to be on the safe side.  It is a very heavy table which does dismantle if needed, to get it into position. Very sturdy.  The top has been sanded and sealed with a matt varnish.
