1940's Lepaute Clock

Sold

This is a classic piece of French design produced by the renowned clock makers Lepaute.  The Lepaute brothers founded their company in 1759.

It is unusual of a Lepaute Clock of this era to have a wooden casing.  The wood has been painted, much of which has been naturally distressed over the years. There is some old re-treated woodworm and a few paint spots to the frame which we were keen to leave as authentic as possible.  There is also some crazing to the enamel face.

We have refitted this with a high torque battery mechanism.

57 cm diameter x 9 cm d.
