19th Century Finial Pendant Light
This wonderful roof finial is French, circa 1850's. Beautifully made with an intricate wooden frame and hand shaped zinc over the top. All with a lovely patina.
Originally this had an iron spike sticking out of the top with the zinc ball on it. We have replaced this spike with some elephant grey braided flex and re-mounted the zinc ball in the original position.
The flex has a hanging wire running through it designed to take heavy lights so no need for a chain.
The finial has been converted into this stunning and rare pendant light. The bulb used in the picture is an oversize E27 bulb.
From the underside you can see the rim of the carved wooden frame and even the inside.
The light is 50 cm h x 52 across the base. 87 cm h from the base to the top of the ball.
