We believe this superb Italian sideboard to date back to late 18th Century.

It really is a rather incredible piece. Made from oak it would have originally been painted. It feels like it has been in the sun for some time as the wood and remains of the paint are very sun bleached.

Very apparently and very much adding to the impact of this piece, is that it has had historic signs of wood worm. You can see this immediately on seeing the piece and it really adds to the character. We have, of course, re-treated this to be on the safe side. Because it is made from oak and having also had some restoration, it is very sturdy and a useful everyday piece of furniture.
