Large 19th Century Painted Cupboard

 £ 2600.00 REDUCED TO £ 2000.00

Sourced in Normandy, France, this style of antique armoire is known as a 'knockdown' cupboard.  Basically it is 19th Century 'flat pack'.  4 pegs are taken out in each corner and the whole thing disassembles.  Making it easy to take into position and then reassemble.

It has wonderful original paint and patina - except for the right hand side which has been re-painted to match in.  Originally this end was positioned against a wall and it wasn't painted.

Really this piece is a blank canvas waiting to be re configured inside as required - weather it be shelves for a kitchen or as a linen cupboard.

It has very notable signs of old woodworm, mostly to the back, along the bottom and base.  We have thoroughly soaked this in wormworm treatment to be on the safe side and although it looks rough it is structurally very good.

A few knocks and scrapes as per its age. Please look at the pictures closely.
