We have been repurposing vintage and antique bottles into lamps for years. However this is the first time we have converted such large bottles.
These bottles are 19th century hand blown demijohns from France. We sourced these with their original iron-strap baskets that were used to protect the bottles and the wine within, with straw as cushioning. We have made the baskets into pendants.
The glass on this bottle is a pale green and is pretty clean inside with a small amount of limescale as per its age.
73 cm h x 44 across.
